TAPS Successfully Advocates for Freeze on Rental Demolitions

Emily Rogers

On June 22, TAPS hosted a rally outside Victoria City Hall asking Council to place a temporary freeze on demolishing rental buildings until there are adequate protections for renters in place. Thanks to this advocacy, Council unanimously voted in favour of this idea. Thank you to everyone who raised their voice to call for housing as a human right! This early and temporary step to protect affordability over the short term demonstrates that when we come together we can create positive change in our community.
